This matcha is made up of stone ground first flush green tea leaves from Uji tea fields of Kyoto, Japan. First flush leaves are the first buds to appear at the beginning of the picking season after a long and cold winter. These hibernating buds fill up with an overabundance of an amino acid called l-theanine and other nutrients; which produce a wonderfully sweet and complex flavors of umami. 45g in one tin.
